Barcode Beats Midpoint Progress

This report showcases the progress that our team made by the midpoint check off. The riskiest element of the project, deconstructing the barcode scanner and isolating the infrared signal readings, and the decimated FIR filter in the FPGA are shown to work properly. Focus will shift to the MCU portion of the project before the final check off.

A semester of growth and perseverance culminate in the deconstruction and modification of a barcode scanner. The portfolio tracks the entire project, encapsulating the role each element plays in frequency-modulated tones, the authors’ reflections on the project and the class, and acknowledges those who made this class a truly memorable experience.
